Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of their Champions League clash with Napoli.
Sports Mole

Barcelona will be bidding to book their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League when they host Napoli for the second leg of their last-16 contest on Tuesday night.

The tie is delicately poised following a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Naples towards the end of last month.

Barcelona will enter this match off the back of a 1-0 victory over Mallorca in La Liga, which moved them into second position in the table, five points behind the leaders Real Madrid.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Napoli, who drew 1-1 with Torino in Serie A on Friday.

Frenkie de Jong

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

De Jong sustained a lateral ligament sprain in his right ankle in the clash with Athletic Bilbao last weekend, and the Netherlands international is now facing a long period on the sidelines.

Pedri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona are confident that the hamstring injury suffered by Pedri against Athletic is not as serious as first feared, and there is a chance that he could be back on the field at some stage in April.

Gavi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Gavi sustained an ACL injury while representing Spain towards the end of last year, and the midfielder will not be available for selection until the 2024-25 campaign.

Alejandro Balde

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Balde underwent hamstring surgery at the end of January, and the Spain international will also be unavailable for selection until next season.

Marcos Alonso

Status: Out
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: Unknown

Alonso underwent back surgery earlier this year, and he remains unavailable for selection, but there is a chance that the defender could be in a matchday squad before the end of the month.

Ferran Torres

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: March 12 (vs. Napoli)

Torres was again absent against Mallorca due to a thigh problem, but there is a chance that the Spanish attacker could be in the squad against Napoli.

Raphinha

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: March 12 (vs. Napoli)

Raphinha was substituted against Mallorca on Friday after taking a heavy knock to the ankle, and he will now need to be assessed ahead of the clash with Napoli.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Barcelona have no suspended players for this match.
