The hosts remain pointless and goalless after yet another defeat in their fifth fixture of the league season over the weekend.

Despite there having been 28 goals across the last seven head-to-heads, neither side has shown much offensive threat in the early stage of the season.
Salernitana have not won here in Empoli in the 21st Century though, and even though hosts sit bottom, they will expect to take at least something from this encounter, if only a point.

Verona have perhaps exceeded expectations early on this season, and they have their home form to thank partly for that.

Aiming to extend their perfect start to the Serie A season, Inter Milan host Sassuolo at San Siro on Wednesday.
While Inter have won five from five to storm clear at the top of the table, their visitors are far more inconsistent - but the Emilian side upset the odds by beating Juventus last time out.

Having not drawn any of their last 26 home matches in Serie A - winning no less than 21, and each of the last six - Inter are a formidable force at San Siro. Even a Sassuolo side buoyed by victory over Juve cannot knock the Nerazzurri out of their stride, so the three points will stay in Milan.

A struggling Lazio side welcome Torino to the Italian capital for a Serie A clash on Wednesday night.
Holding Lazio's rivals Roma to a draw on Sunday night means Torino enter the set of fixtures this midweek four points ahead of their upcoming hosts.

Following a defeat and two disappointing draws - plus a public bust-up between their star player and manager - the Scudetto holders are under pressure to produce three points at home to winless opponents.

Lacking both the rhythm and spark of last season, Napoli are no longer the formidable force that swept aside all-comers up and down the Italian peninsula. They should, though, have more than enough in the tank to take care of goal-shy and injury-ravaged opponents on Wednesday; forcing Udinese to wait a little longer for an elusive first victory.
