Celtic have struck the post twice in the opening 45 minutes of their game away at St Mirren this afternoon, but the score remains goalless at 0-0.
St Mirren worked fervently in the opening stages of the contest to restrict the Scottish Premiership champions, and the only time that Marian Kello was worked in the opening 25 minutes was when he had to tip Charlie Mulgrew's sliced cross over the bar with Anthony Stokes lurking at the far post.
Kris Commons was lively for the visitors and he almost forged an opener when he fed the ball into Mulgrew, but the midfielder was unlucky to see his shot bounce back off the post and into the grateful arms of Kello.
Seven minutes later, Commons went even closer himself. The 30-year-old turned on the edge of the box and dinked a delicate shot over the reach of Kello that clipped the inside of the post and rolled across the goalline before going out of play.
St Mirren offered little in the way of attacking threat, but Scott Brown did enter the book for a cynical challenge as the hosts looked the break away towards the end of the first half.
Commons nodded over the bar under pressure as the first half drew to a close.
