How Chelsea could line up against BATE Borisov

Ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash between BATE Borisov and Chelsea, Sports Mole looks at how Maurizio Sarri's side could line up in Belarus.

Chelsea head into their Europa League fixture with BATE Borisov on Thursday night knowing that a fourth successive victory will be enough to secure qualification for the knockout stages.

Maurizio Sarri has already used 21 players across three games, but that has not prevented the Blues from getting nine points on the board with wins over PAOK, Videoton and BATE.

Two of those triumphs came by the narrowest of margins, but a hat-trick from Ruben Loftus-Cheek earned the West Londoners a more comfortable success in the reverse clash with the Belarusian outfit.

Sarri will make a number of changes to his side for the lengthy trip to Eastern Europe, and here Sports Mole looks at how his team could line up at the Borisov Arena.

Out: Marco van Ginkel (knee)
Doubtful: Olivier Giroud (muscular)

Eden Hazard made his first outing in two weeks in Sunday's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace, and the Belgian could be provided with the chance to build his match fitness against BATE.

Willian could get the nod over Pedro having spent less time on the pitch against the Eagles, and Olivier Giroud may feature in attack having overcome a muscular problem.

Loftus-Cheek and Cesc Fabregas are expected to start in midfield, and Mateo Kovacic should also feature at some stage with Sarri likely to rest at least one of Jorginho and N'Golo Kante.

The entire back four could to be rotated with Davide Zappacosta and Emerson Palmieri taking their places at full-back and Andreas Christensen and Gary Cahill coming into the middle of the backline.

Ethan Ampadu has recovered from a knee injury and may be named on the bench, as could Callum Hudson-Odoi who made a bright cameo appearance against BATE two weeks ago.
