Jorginho's agent has confirmed that Chelsea have offered the midfielder a new deal.

With Jorginho's current deal set to expire in the summer, there remained a question mark over his future, but now the Italian has to decide whether to accept the extension.

According to the Evening Standard, there is interest from Barcelona and Newcastle United as well as other clubs in Italy who could enter the fray.

However, his agent Joao Santos has confirmed that the midfielder's first choice would be to stay at Chelsea, telling reporters: "Jorginho's contract expires on June 30, we have a renewal proposal and we give priority to Chelsea.

"Napoli represented our home in Italy, [Napoli sporting director Cristiano] Giuntoli greatly appreciates the boy, for us it is a special club. If there was a new interest, we would be happy, but at the moment Napoli have not had contact with us."

The 31-year-old has started 16 of his 20 appearances so far this season, scoring three times in all competitions and this season has seen him reach over 200 games for the club since joining in 2018. body check tags ::
