Crewe Alexandra hold a narrow lead over Preston North End in their League One clash at Gresty Road.
Crewe took the initiative early in the game as they gained the lead in the 10th minute when Adam Dugdale headed a corner past Declan Rudd.
The home side could have doubled their advantage when Byron Moore raced through on goal and was one-on-one with Rudd, but Bailey Wright got back to make a last-ditch tackle to stop the striker.
Uche Ikpeazu almost doubled Crewe's lead as he raided into the box, but his poked effort went just wide of the post after he got the better of Wright.
