Derby County manager Nigel Clough has said that Blackburn Rovers deserved their late equaliser in their opening game of the Championship season at Pride Park.
Johnny Russell's first-half penalty had the Rams on course to take all three points until Leon Best rescued a draw for the visitors in the 89th minute.
"I think over the balance of the game it was a fair result," Clough told Sky Sports News. "It's just disappointing the manner in which we conceded and the lateness of it.
"It's always difficult, the first one. It's a big occasion for everybody and I'm delighted we didn't lose."
Derby travel to Boundary Park on Tuesday to face Oldham Athletic in the first round of the League Cup.
