France international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has rued his side's failure to take their chances against Spain in their World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
Pedro's second-half goal was enough for Vicente del Bosque's team to register a 1-0 victory over Les Bleus at Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
"It came down to the small details tonight," Lloris told reporters. "We know that everything is still possible but the Spaniards took their chance.
"It's a shame as it was a great opportunity to remain top of the group, but we did not get the result we wanted. We attacked Spain head-on and we created a lot of chances, as you saw tonight. Just as in our meeting at Euro 2012, we couldn't find a way through.
"However, when you look at our last two games against Spain it is encouraging - because they are the best team in the world - and we felt in control and had more possession of the ball. We had the chance to equalise but unfortunately we didn't capitalise. There were other chances to score as well."
France are now a point behind Spain in second place in Group I.
