Sports Mole previews Sunday's La Liga clash between Getafe and Osasuna, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Getafe will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run in La Liga to five matches when they welcome Osasuna to Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Sunday night.

The home side are currently 19th in the table, three points from the safety of 17th position, while Osasuna are 10th, having collected 22 points from their opening 17 games of the 2021-22 campaign.

Match preview

Getafe have won two, drawn six and lost nine of their opening 17 matches of the season to collect 12 points, which has left them in 19th position in the table, three points from 17th-placed Alaves.

The Deep Blue Ones finished 15th in La Liga last term, just four points above the relegation zone, and it does appear that they will face another battle to secure their top-flight status.

Getafe are unbeaten in their last four league matches, though, beating Cadiz 4-0 on November 21 before drawing three straight games against Mallorca, Athletic Bilbao and Alaves.

Quique Sanchez Flores's side were on the end of a shock result in the Copa del Rey on Thursday evening, though, as they lost 5-0 to third-tier outfit Atletico Baleares.

Sanchez apologised to the Getafe supporters in the aftermath of the result, and the fans will be looking for a strong response from their side in this weekend's La Liga contest.

Osasuna, meanwhile, were also in Copa del Rey action on Thursday and managed to progress to the next round of the competition courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Deportivo La Coruna.

Jagoba Arrasate's side are unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions, although their only victories during that run have come in the Copa del Rey, drawing their last three in the league.

Osasuna held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw on home soil last weekend, but they have not been victorious since beating Villarreal 2-1 on October 17, which has prevented them from moving higher up the table.

It has still been an impressive campaign to date for Los Rojillos, though, with a total of 22 points from 17 matches leaving them in 10th position in the table.

Osasuna have not beaten Getafe in the league since February 2014, although three of their last four meetings at this level of football have finished level, including a 0-0 draw back in April.

Team News

Getafe will be without the services of Jose Juan Macias and Sabit Abdulai through injury, while Chema Rodriguez and Damian Suarez are doubts for the home side this weekend.

Head coach Flores will make wholesale changes from the side that started Thursday's shock Copa del Rey defeat, with Mauro Arambarri, Nemanja Maksimovic, Carles Alena, Sandro Ramirez and Enes Unal among those set to return to the starting XI.

Getafe will be missing Jaime Mata through suspension, though, due to the yellow card that the forward picked up in the 1-1 draw with Alaves last weekend.

As for Osasuna, David Garcia will miss the contest through suspension, while Aridane Hernandez, Jesus Areso, Robert Ibanez and Juan Manuel Perez are injured.

There are not expected to be any major surprises in the away side's XI this weekend, with Kike again likely to lead the line, with Kike Barja and Manu Sanchez playing in the wide positions.

Lucas Torro and Jon Moncayola are also expected to feature in a five-man midfield, while David Garcia's absence at the back could open the door for Jonas Ramalho to start.

Getafe possible starting lineup:
Silva; Dakonam, Mitrovic, Cuenca; Iglesias, Alena, Arambarri, Maksimovic, Olivera; Unal, Sandro

Osasuna possible starting lineup:
Herrera; Vidal, U Garcia, Ramalho, Cruz; Barja, R Garcia, Torro, Moncayola, Sanchez; Kike

We say: Getafe 2-2 Osasuna

These two teams have drawn 13 matches between them this season, and we are struggling to separate them this weekend. Osasuna are struggling to win in the league at the moment, but they should have enough to claim a share of the spoils against Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
