Leicester City vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha reveals that Riyad Mahrez has told him that he wants to stay at the club.

Leicester City vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has revealed that Riyad Mahrez has informed him that he wants to stay at the club.

The winger's agent Kamel Bengougam sparked rumours that his client could leave the newly-crowned Premier League champions this summer.

He claimed that that there was a 50% chance that the Algerian would sign for another club when the transfer window opens.

However, the club's vice-chairman has insisted that Claudio Ranieri's star player, who was named the PFA Player of the Year last month, intends to stay put at the King Power Stadium.

"I think now I want the players to enjoy this moment and not be concerned about the contracts," ESPN quotes Srivaddhanaprabha as saying.

"They are good boys. They are good lads. They understand. Even Mahrez, I talked to him and said, 'Are you concerned?' He said, 'No, no, I want to stay.' This is what he wants. He wants to stay."

Leicester won their first top-flight title in the club's 132-year history on Monday when Chelsea restricted Tottenham Hotspur to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The Foxes, who have a seven-point lead with two games left to play, will lift the trophy following Saturday's match against Everton.
