Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Champions League group-stage clash with Napoli.
Sports Mole

Liverpool will begin their quest for a seventh European Cup/Champions League title when Napoli welcome them to Italy for Wednesday's opener in Group A.

An injury-hit Reds side have faltered at the start of the new Premier League season and were held to a 0-0 draw by Merseyside rivals Everton in Saturday's derby at Goodison Park.

Jurgen Klopp's side were agonisingly close to going all the way in the continent's premier tournament last term, but Real Madrid had other ideas and won the cup for the 14th time through Vinicius Junior's strike.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Partenopei.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: September 7 (vs. Napoli)

Caoimhin Kelleher is still struggling with a groin problem and was not ready to face Everton, but the Irish goalkeeper may be back in training this week and could make the journey to Italy.

Ibrahima Konate

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: October 1 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

Ibrahima Konate continues to work his way back from the knee injury that he sustained against Strasbourg in pre-season, and Klopp is confident that he will return to training after the international break.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

While Thiago might be fit to return, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still confined to the treatment room with his hamstring issue and will remain out for a while.

Naby Keita

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

As is the case with Oxlade-Chamberlain, Klopp has conceded that Naby Keita will also take a good chunk of time to recover from his latest muscular problem, and he will not be available in midweek.

Jordan Henderson

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Jordan Henderson has been sent for scans on the hamstring injury that he suffered against Newcastle United last week, and the England international is now expected to make his comeback after the international break.

Fabio Carvalho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Dead leg
Possible return date: September 10 (vs. Wolves)

Fabio Carvalho earned a start in Saturday's Merseyside derby before being forced off with a dead leg at half time, and the 20-year-old has not been included in the squad for Wednesday's European opener.

Curtis Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shin
Possible return date: Unknown

Klopp revealed at his pre-game press conference that Curtis Jones had suffered a recurrence of a stress injury in the shin area, and the midfielder is also absent for the clash with Napoli.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this match.
