Filip Djuricic: 'Southampton could have had two penalties against Liverpool'

Filip Djuricic believes that Southampton could have had two penalties during the first half of their Premier League defeat against Liverpool.

Forward Filip Djuricic has claimed that Southampton could have had two penalties in the first half of this evening's Premier League match against Liverpool.

Southampton lost the game 2-0 at St Mary's, missing out on the chance to move back into the top four, and new signing Djuricic, who made his first league start for the Saints, felt that he was fouled in the penalty area twice early on.

"We could have had two penalties but the referee didn't whistle," BBC Sport quotes Djuricic as saying.

"The first one I feel the contact, it was light contact but I fell down. The second one was more a penalty than the first one for sure. I feel his hand on my shoulder and I fell down.

"The first one was little bit light and this is England so there are a different type of criteria for the penalty, but the second one definitely."

Victory for Liverpool moves them up to fifth in the table and within a point of Southampton, who are one adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United.
