Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will face no further punishment over his comments about Paul Tierney's refereeing performance during Sunday's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Klopp was left fuming at a number of decisions during the game, most notably Harry Kane avoiding a red card for a studs-up challenge on Andrew Robertson and Diogo Jota being denied a penalty.

Robertson himself was later sent off, and after the game Klopp suggested that Paul Tierney has a "problem" with him and that he was not "objective".

The Football Association has now reviewed the comments and decided to take no further action against the Liverpool boss.

Kane opened the scoring for Spurs before his controversial challenge, only for Jota and Robertson to turn the game back in Liverpool's favour.

However, an Alisson Becker error saw Son Heung-min earn a point for the hosts, leaving Liverpool three points behind leaders Manchester City.

Liverpool are next due to be in action on Wednesday night against Leicester City in the EFL Cup quarter-finals. body check tags ::
