Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's FA Cup fifth-round clash against Sheffield Wednesday.

Manchester City resume their defence of the FA Cup with a visit to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday for the fifth round on Wednesday evening.

Pep Guardiola's side recently won their third consecutive EFL Cup with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at Wembley on Sunday, and will be looking to continue their dominance of the domestic cup scene in midweek.

City have recently chalked up a run of four consecutive wins in all competitions, with their EFL Cup triumph preceded by victories over Real Madrid, Leicester City and West Ham United.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the FA Cup tie at Hillsborough.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: March 4 (vs. Sheffield Wednesday)

Sergio Aguero picked up a knock in the cup final following a challenge from Aston Villa's Marvelous Nakamba, however the South American has confirmed that his injury is not serious and the forward could be in contention to play on Wednesday.

Aymeric Laporte

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: March 21 (vs. Chelsea)

Aymeric Laporte, who has already spent a significant amount of time on the sidelines this season, hobbled off in the first half against Madrid at the Bernabeu. Guardiola has since confirmed that the defender will be out for at least another three weeks with a hamstring injury.

Leroy Sane

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Leroy Sane has not made an appearance for the Citizens since the 2019 Community Shield, however recently made a return for the Under-23s against Arsenal. The German international played 57 minutes of that encounter and should make a return to first-team action sooner rather than later.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City have no suspension concerns ahead of the FA Cup fixture.
