Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Southampton on Saturday.
Sports Mole

Manchester City will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season when they play host to Southampton at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Citizens followed up their 6-3 derby win over Manchester United with a 5-0 victory at home against Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola will be keen to see his City side extend their winning run on home soil to six matches against a Southampton outfit who are seeking to avoid a fourth successive top-flight defeat.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Ralph Hasenhuttl's side.

Kyle Walker

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

Kyle Walker is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and is a major doubt for the World Cup after he underwent groin surgery this week.

Man City released a statement confirming the news on Thursday and revealed that "a more detailed prognosis will be provided in due course."

Kalvin Phillips

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: Unknown

Kalvin Phillips remains sidelined after he underwent successful shoulder surgery towards the end of last month. The England midfielder, who is also doubtful for the World Cup, is not expected to return to first-team action until November.

John Stones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: October 11 (vs. Copenhagen)

John Stones has missed the last two matches due to a hamstring injury which he sustained while on international duty with England at the end of last month.

The 28-year-old could potentially be in contention to return when the Citizens travel to Copenhagen next Tuesday.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no suspended players for this match.
