Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has revealed that the club "have some doubts" for Saturday's Premier League with West Ham United due to illness.

The 20-time English champions will be bidding to return to winning ways when they head to the capital to take on David Moyes's side in Saturday's early start.

However, Ten Hag said during his press conference on Friday that there are "some doubts" in the camp due to "illnesses during the week", with late checks need to be made on the players impacted.

The Man United boss also said that Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Mason Mount are expected to return in the middle of January, while Victor Lindelof is currently sidelined following an operation.

"We have some doubts. We have some illnesses during the week; we have to see who is available for tomorrow. Hopefully they are recovered but we have to see," Ten Hag told reporters.

"They [Martinez and Casemiro] are not available before Christmas. Mid-January, we expect them back.

"Mason Mount is similar, into January. Harry Maguire, I expect him early on [in the new year]. Victor Lindelof is not available. He has done surgery so he will be out for a couple of weeks."

Man United will also be missing Tyrell Malacia for the trip to West Ham, but Amad Diallo and Christian Eriksen have both returned to training and are seemingly close to being available for selection.

Jadon Sancho is another absentee for the 20-time English champions, with the forward not being considered for selection due to his fall-out with Ten Hag at the start of September, while Diogo Dalot is suspended following his red card at Liverpool last weekend.

"I think we can definitely improve. It is not about one player; it is about a group of us. You know my philosophy: we have to attack with 11," Ten Hag added during his press conference.

"It is not about one player, it is about everyone. We need to move the ball better, the decision-making on the ball has to be better. Sometimes we also have to be more clinical. The best chance at Liverpool was ours.

"We have played very strong teams in Liverpool and Bayern Munich, and before we had a poor game [vs Bournemouth].

"Always issues. We have to improve, we played very good against Bayern Munich and Liverpool but we should have created more chances and been more clinical in such moments."

Man United are currently seventh in the Premier League table, but a win over ninth-placed West Ham on Saturday would move them above Newcastle United into sixth. body check tags ::
