Amad Diallo is targeting more action for Manchester United, with the forward remaining at Old Trafford for the second half of the campaign despite being heavily linked with a loan exit in January.

Sunderland expressed a desire to re-sign the Ivory Coast international on loan in the winter market, while there is also believed to have been interest from a number of other Championship clubs.

However, with Facundo Pellistri being allowed to leave, the decision was made for Amad to remain at Old Trafford, and the 21-year-old is now bidding to secure action in the second half of the season.

Amad has only played once this term, featuring as a second-half substitute in the Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest on December 30, but he has not been used in the recent games with Newport County, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United despite being available.

Omari Forson has moved above the Ivorian in the pecking order, but the forward is determined to add to the 10 Man United appearances that he has made since his arrival.

"I'd be delighted to play there (Old Trafford) again. I can't wait to play and help the team," Amad told TeamViewer Diaries. "When I scored against AC Milan, there were no fans there as it was during Covid.

"The fans are back now, so I hope to score and I hope it's a winner that I can celebrate with the supporters, because I like celebrating with them.

"I was pleased to be back because I was out for so long, it was almost five months. Coming back and playing in that game was really important for me. It was exciting and I hope to keep it up.

"The coach gave me some instructions. He told me to attack and get into one-on-ones, without forgetting my defensive duties, so I did what he asked and I'm pleased to have returned in that game. I hope the next one will be a win."

Amad also credited Lisandro Martinez for his role in his recovery, with the former missing the opening months of the campaign due to a knee injury which he suffered during pre-season.

"Lisandro is a fantastic person. He's more than a player to me. He's a leader. When I got injured, he was injured too, so he really helped me," he added.

"He spoke to me a lot and told me not to worry about the injury, and the main thing was to stay positive and work hard to get back into the team, so I did what he and everyone else said. I'm so pleased to be back."

Amad made the move to Man United from Atalanta BC in 2021, and he has scored once in 10 outings for the 20-time English champions.

The forward starred during a loan spell at Sunderland during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 14 goals and registering four assists in 42 appearances in all competitions. body check tags ::
