Sir Jim Ratcliffe will reportedly be at Old Trafford for Manchester United's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

On Christmas Eve, it was confirmed that the British billionaire had agreed to purchase 25% of the Red Devils, with the deal expected to be ratified by the Premier League over the next few weeks.

Sir Dave Brailsford, who is the director of sport at INEOS, is expected to have a major role at Old Trafford moving forward, and he has been at the fixtures with Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Wigan Athletic since the purchase was announced.

Brailsford was joined by INEOS chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc in the stands against Wigan, with the Frenchman also likely to be a key part of the new football department at the club.

According to BBC Sport, Ratcliffe is now preparing to watch Man United in person for the first time since his imminent arrival as a minority shareholder was announced.

The report claims that the owner and founder of INEOS will be at Old Trafford for Sunday's key Premier League clash with Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham outfit.

Earlier this month, Ratcliffe travelled to the club's Carrington training complex alongside Brailsford for a series of meetings with head coach Erik ten Hag, the Dutchman's staff and the club's players.

"Very positive, I have to say. We had a long meeting, so many hours we sit together. On many issues we were on the same page, very positive from both sides," Ten Hag told reporters when asked about Ratcliffe's visit. "I can say that it was a very constructive meeting and we're looking forward to working with each other.

"We have to let it settle down. They have just come in and are introducing themselves. They have good ideas. We have to see what we can integrate. We have to work. They have given me a few [ideas]. We have our debates. I think we will come together."

Ratcliffe's stake in the 20-time English champions is expected to increase from 25% to 29% once his separate investment into the infrastructure of the club has been converted into shares.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the businessman has plans to complete a full takeover in the future and viewed this deal as the best-case outcome at this moment in time, with the Glazers leaning away from a full sale.

Man United beat Wigan Athletic 2-0 in the FA Cup on Monday evening, but their last Premier League clash ended in a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the end of December.

Ten Hag's side only have two more matches before the end of the month, welcoming Tottenham in the league on Sunday, before heading to either Newport County or Eastleigh in the fourth round of the FA Cup on January 28. body check tags ::
