Bryan Robson highlights the positive contribution made by Manchester United's experienced squad members following the team's recent run of positive form.

Bryan Robson has insisted that Manchester United's experienced players deserve to share the credit for the team's recent results.

A number of injuries have forced manager Louis van Gaal to use a number of previously untested youngsters in wins over Shrewsbury Town, FC Midtjylland and Arsenal.

However, following the 3-2 triumph over the Gunners, Robson was quick to highlight the contribution that has been made by the more mature members of the squad.

"The way the young players have come in and performed for the last couple of games is terrific for the club and terrific for the young lads but my feelings are that the experienced players deserve a lot of credit as well," the former captain told the club's official website.

"I just thought that, considering all the injuries we've got, all the experienced lads were excellent yesterday. David de Gea, Michael Carrick, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Morgan Schneiderlin - they all put in good performances.

"I thought all of those lads had really good games, which created a good, steady centre of the field and a platform for the young boys to go and inject their energy and enthusiasm into the game. It shouldn't go amiss that the experienced lads did really well yesterday."

The Red Devils return to action on Wednesday with a home clash against Watford.
