Sports Mole reflects on week 17 of the Premier League with a selection of statistics and figures.

Liverpool 3-1 Cardiff City

Luis Suarez's two goals took his tally for December to 10 - a feat that no other player has achieved since the Premier League was introduced.

What's more, the Uruguayan international has now found the back of the net 29 times from 26 outings in 2013.

As for Cardiff, Jordan Mutch's effort ended their wait of 498 minutes for an away goal.

Crystal Palace 0-3 Newcastle United

Going into this clash, hosting Palace had kept three consecutive clean sheets at Selhurst Park.

Staying with shutouts, Newcastle have secured back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since September 2011.

One of their goalscorers, Hatem Ben Arfa, has converted all three of the Premier League penalties that he has taken.

Fulham 2-4 Manchester City

City skipper Vincent Kompany scored at both ends - the second player to do so this month after Sunderland's Phil Bardsley against Chelsea.

Meanwhile, midfielder Yaya Toure has scored nine Premier League goals for the Citizens so far.

Fulham may have found victories hard to come by, but they have now scored in their last 11 home matches in succession.

Manchester United 3-1 West Ham United

Danny Welbeck's opener was the first time that he had found the net at Old Trafford since October 2012.

His teammate, Ashley Young, also ended his wait for a Premier League goal which dated back to May 2012.

West Ham's goal, scored by Carlton Cole, was the East Londoner's only shot on target over the course of the 90 minutes.

Stoke City 2-1 Aston Villa

Visiting Villa have been particularly leaky in defence of late, having conceded at least two goals during their last four matches.

One of those goals was scored by Peter Crouch, who has struck in back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since September 2012.

The Potters are currently on a run of four encounters without defeat.

Sunderland 0-0 Norwich City

Wes Brown's sending-off was the fifth red card that Sunderland have received this season - three more than any other club.

Worryingly for the Black Cats, only one team (West Bromwich Albion, 2004-05) have been bottom of the Premier League on Christmas Day and successfully fought off the threat of relegation.

Norwich's last two away draws have both come at the Stadium of Light.

West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Hull City

The home side's loanee striker Matej Vydra scored with his first ever shot in the Premier League.

However, it did not end West Brom's poor run of form, with the Baggies having now collected just three points from a possible 21.

As for Hull, Jake Livermore scored his maiden goal away from home.

Southampton 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur

Adam Lallana's opening goal was the first that Southampton have scored from outside of the penalty area all season.

It was also the fourth chance that the England international has converted, already surpassing his tally of three from last term.

He may have struggled to score since joining from Valencia, but no Tottenham player has set up more goals than Roberto Soldado, who has three assists to his name.

Swansea City 1-2 Everton

Seamus Coleman scored his fourth goal of the season for Everton, which was also the eighth scored by a defender for the Toffees - no side's defence has contributed more in the goalscoring department.

Avoiding defeat also meant that Roberto Martinez's men have lost just once in the Premier League.

Hosting Swansea have claimed only 38 points from 35 games in 2013.

Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Arsene Wenger is still searching for his first victory over Jose Mourinho - a run that dates back 10 matches.

Despite having more of the possession, it took the hosts until the 85th minute to record a shot on target.

No side has collected more points than Chelsea (12) from trips to the Emirates Stadium.
