Tottenham Hotspur share a goalless Premier League draw with Manchester United at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have played out a goalless draw in their Premier League clash at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

Both sides were on the attack early on, but a weak shot from Ryan Mason left David de Gea with a comfortable save, while Juan Mata failed to test Hugo Lloris with a curling effort.

Mata created the first real chance of the match though when he played the ball in for Radamel Falcao, but a scuffed finish was straight at Lloris.

The home side tried to make the most of the save with a quick counter-attack, but De Gea was able to smother Andros Townsend's chip forward.

United continued to find space down the other end as Mata struck the post with a free kick, with Vlad Chiriches on hand to clear the rebound.

Lloris was busy in the final minutes before the break as Robin van Persie, Rooney and Ashley Young all tested the French international keeper, who kept all of their all their attempts out.

After a slow start to the second half, the visitors had a chance to open the scoring 10 minutes after the restart when Michael Carrick set up Van Persie, but his volley flew high of the crossbar.

Lloris had to be alert again when Rafael made a charge down the right to set up Mata, but the Spaniard sliced his shot from inside the box high and wide.

Spurs started to see more of the ball again as the game headed into the final 20 minutes, with Federico Fazio trying a low driven effort, while Christian Eriksen was denied from a free kick by De Gea.

The hosts continued to look the more likely in the final stages as Mason came within a few inches of opening the scoring when Harry Kane played the ball in to him following a driver run, but midfielder hurried his shot and sent it high.

The result lifts Spurs up to sixth in the table, having played a game more than Arsenal, while United remain third and unbeaten in nine.
