Atletico Madrid have reportedly joined the race for Manchester United and Liverpool-linked forward Ricardo Pepi.

The 18-year-old is believed to have attracted the attention of some of Europe's top clubs after registering 13 goals and three assists in 31 MLS appearances for FC Dallas in 2021.

Pepi only signed a contract extension with the Texas-based side until 2026 earlier this year, but his agent believes that the teenager is ready to take the step up to a top European club.

Man United and Liverpool are thought to be leading the race for Pepi's signature, but CBS claims that Atletico are also keen on signing the USA international.

Dallas are supposedly demanding a fee of £7.5m to part ways with Pepi, who is also rumoured to be on the radar of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Pepi only made his debut for the USA in September but already has three goals and three assists to his name from six international appearances.
