Real Madrid are reportedly becoming increasingly resigned to losing centre-back Raphael Varane this summer.

The France international has spent the past decade at the Bernabeu, but he is now about to enter the final 12 months of his deal.

According to The Athletic, Madrid have accepted that they will have to cash in on Varane this window if fresh terms cannot be agreed.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have been strongly linked with the 28-year-old, who is said to have informed Los Blancos of his desire to seek a fresh challenge.

Madrid have already said goodbye to fellow long-serving defender Sergio Ramos this month, while David Alaba has joined on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.
