Louis van Gaal has made three changes to his Netherlands XI for Friday's game with Ecuador in Al Rayyan.

Despite battling their way to a 2-0 win over Senegal earlier this week, Van Gaal has freshened up his side with the inclusion of Jurrien Timber, Teun Koopmeiners and Davy Klaassen.

Matthijs de Ligt, Steven Berghuis and Vincent Janssen are the trio to drop out of the team, with Cody Gakpo being used alongside Steven Bergwijn in attack.

Despite making his return from injury in the first game from the substitutes' bench, Memphis Depay remains among the replacements.

Meanwhile, Enner Valencia has shaken off a knee issue to start for Ecuador as he bids to make World Cup history for the South American nation.

Gustavo Alfaro has made just one alteration from the team which started the win over Qatar, with Jackson Porozo replacing Romario Ibarra.

Netherlands: Noppert; Timber, Van Dijk, Ake; Dumfries, Koopmeiners, De Jong, Blind; Klaassen; Gakpo, Bergwijn

Ecuador: Galindez; Preciado, Porozo, Torres, Hincapie, Estupinan; Plata, Mendez, Caicedo, E. Valencia; Estrada body check tags ::
