Qatar and Senegal get the second round of group-stage fixtures underway when they go head to head at the Al Thumama Stadium on Friday.

The Maroon became the first host nation to lose their opening World Cup game as Enner Valencia struck twice to hand Ecuador a 2-0 victory when the sides squared off in Group A on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Senegal were denied a dream start to the tournament as they suffered a 2-0 loss against Netherlands on Monday courtesy of late goals from Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen.
