Queens Park Rangers have lodged bids for Roma's Gabriel Heinze and Sunderland's Keiran Richardson, according to reports.
Manager Mark Hughes is intent on strengthening the club's defence after they conceded two goals per game last season.
It is reported that Richardson is his preferred target, and a bid of £2m could be enough for Hughes to gain permission to talk to the 28-year-old, according to The Metro.
Heinze has been told that he can leave Roma and he has reportedly opened talks with QPR over a one-year contract.
