Vincent Janssen leads the line for Netherlands in Monday's World Cup fixture versus Senegal.

Vincent Janssen has been handed a start for Netherlands in Monday's World Cup fixture versus Senegal.

With Memphis Depay having been absent since September through injury, the Barcelona forward was not considered for a starting role in this match.

Instead, former Tottenham Hotspur man Janssen, now impressing at Antwerp, will partner Steven Bergwijn, with Cody Gakpo being used in a role behind the front two.

Denzel Dumfries starts at right wing-back, despite being a fitness doubt, while goalkeeper Andries Noppert makes his international debut between the sticks.

Meanwhile, Senegal, who are missing Sadio Mane, have gone with Boulaye Dia in the attack with Ismaila Sarr and Krepin Diatta in close support.

Chelsea goalkeeper and defender Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly are key figures at the back, while Everton man Idrissa Gueye lines up in midfield.

Senegal: Mendy; Koulibaly, Cisse, Diallo, Sabaly, Mendy, Kouyate, Gueye, Diatta, Sarr, Dia

Netherlands: Noppert; De Ligt, Van Dijk, Ake; Dumfries, Berghuis, De Jong, Blind; Gakpo; Janssen, Bergwijn body check tags ::
