Sochaux could still be relegated from Ligue 1 this season after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Toulouse.
Issiaga Sylla and Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro put the visitors in front before Giovanni Sio pulled one back just before the break.
Etienne Capoue was shown a red card for the away side, but Toulouse held on for the win. Sochaux now need a point on the final day to guarantee their safety.
After a quiet opening to the match, the visitors went ahead in the 14th minute when Sylla blasted a shot into the roof of the net from just inside the box.
Toulouse doubled their lead midway through the first half when Akpa Akpro converted a cross by Adrien Rabiot.
However, Sochaux pulled a goal back five minutes before the break when Sio found the bottom corner of the net from just inside the box.
Neither side managed to create any clear-cut chances for much of the second half, but Toulouse's task of retaining the lead was made harder when Capoue was sent off after picking up a second yellow card with 14 minutes to go.
