Early goals from David Alaba and Ergin Zengin ensure that Austria and Sweden share a 1-1 draw in their first Euro 2016 qualifier.

Sweden and Austria have shared a 1-1 draw following two early goals in their opening Euro 2016 qualifier this evening.

The home side took an early lead when Sebastian Larsson handled the ball in the area, allowing David Alaba to put Austria ahead from the penalty spot, smashing the ball into the top left corner.

Sweden needed just five minutes to get back on level terms though, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic headed the ball on for Erkan Zengin to volley in.

Zengin almost grabbed his second a few moments later as he tried to slice the ball in from out wide, but it was kept out by the crossbar.

Ibrahimovic had a chance himself later in the half as he tried to curl the ball in from a free kick, but could not clear the wall.

Austria almost regained the lead just before the break as Julian Baumgartlinger unleashed a powerful strike, but Andreas Isaksson parried it away.

The hosts were on the attack again at the start of the second half as Martin Hinteregger tried to head in from a Zlatko Junuzovic corner, but he could not keep his finish on target.

After a quiet spell, Ibrahimovic had another shot from a free kick, but once again the Paris Saint-Germain forward could not get the ball beyond the wall.

Florian Klein tried to volley in a late winner, but his ambitious strike was blocked by Martin Olsson, ensuring that both sides come away with a point.
