Matchday five of the Eredivisie season comes to an end with a tantalizing fixture between Vitesse and FC Twente at the GelreDome on Sunday.

The teams come into the game looking to pick up a second consecutive league victory after they both returned to winning ways in their respective outings last time out.

Twente recorded their first three points of the new campaign at the fourth time of asking following a narrow 1-0 triumph over Utrecht on Saturday.

The game was heading for a share of the spoils with the scores level at the end of normal time, only for Robin Propper to snatch all three points for Ron Jans's men in the first minute of stoppage time.

That win means that the Tukkers have amassed four points from as many games this term and now moved up two places into 13th on the standings.

Lying in store next for them is a crunch clash versus an opposing side who have come out on top in four of the last five meetings between the outfits.

Saturday's visitors, who failed to score in three of the aforementioned games, will need to get going at the attacking end if they are to turn the tide this weekend.

Vitesse triumphed away from home for the second time in three games courtesy of a 2-1 win over RKC Waalwijk at the Mandemakers Stadion on Sunday.

Danilho Doekhi scored in the eighth minute to hand Thomas Letsch's men a lead which only lasted for 19 minutes following Said Bakari's leveller, before Yann Gboho decided the game just shy of the hour mark.

As a result, Vitas have now climbed into the top half, and they will be looking to continue their surge up the table in the coming weeks.

Sunday's hosts, who also claimed a 2-0 triumph away at Slovenian side Mura in their Conference League opener on Thursday, now seek to record a third win on the spin across all competitions.

Vitesse will take to the field without the services of Croatian defender Dominik Oroz, who remains in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.

Million Manhoef remains out with a knee problem, while Daan Reiziger is yet to feature for the hosts since July due to a shoulder injury.

Luka Ilic has served his one-game suspension following a red card versus Cambuur and is expected to be reinstated back into the XI for this one.

The duo of Vaclav Cerny and Jody Lukoki are ruled out with knee injuries, while 21-year-old Kik Pierie misses out through a back problem.
