With the 2022-23 season having been halted due to the September international break, Sports Mole takes a look at how Wolverhampton Wanderers' loan players are performing away from Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters will argue that their club goes from one extreme to another when it comes to their activity in the transfer market.

The high-profile acquisitions of the likes of Nathan Collins, Matheus Nunes and Goncalo Guedes have led to a number of youngsters being allowed to head out on loan, some of them not for the first time.

However, while Wolves are currently not reaping the full benefits of their young crop, many of them are taking advantage of their time to shine elsewhere.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Wolves' prospects are faring during their time away from Molineux.

WHICH PLAYERS ARE FINDING IT BENEFICIAL?

Despite plans to switch to a 4-3-3 formation, Bruno Lage was prepared to loan out Fabio Silva, and the Portuguese has only benefitted from regular action at Anderlecht.

The 20-year-old has already featured in 15 matches, contributing seven goals and two assists, comfortably representing the best run of his professional career.

Ryan Giles was in contention to remain at Molineux this summer, but the left-sided player has instead contributed three assists from 10 starts for Championship side Middlesbrough.

Meanwhile, Theo Corbeanu has shown flashes of brilliance at Blackpool, chipping in with three goals from his five starts and five substitute appearances.

Dion Sanderson has been a mainstay in the back three at Birmingham City, also making 10 starts, and Nigel Lonwijk and Taylor Perry are making their own progress in League One.

Centre-back Lonwijk has emerged as a star man in Plymouth Argyle's back three, making five starts and two substitute outings, while Taylor Perry has nine starts to his name at Cheltenham Town.

Goalkeeper Louie Moulden has established himself between the sticks for National League side Solihull Moors, and over in Switzerland, Bendeguz Bolla has made a further seven appearances for Grasshopper Zurich, adding to his regular outings in 2021-22.

WHICH PLAYERS NEED MORE TIME?

Although doubts remain over Ki-Jana Hoever's professionalism, the young defender has still made three starts and two substitute outings for PSV Eindhoven.

Luke Cundle is yet to make a start for Swansea City, but the midfielder starred and scored as a substitute during the win over Hull City last weekend.

Defender Christian Marques is finally getting some much-needed senior action with the Portuguese making three starts and one appearance from the substitutes' bench for Forest Green Rovers in League One.

Meanwhile, Lewis Richards has overcome injury to make four starts and four substitute outings for Harrogate Town in League Two, securing a starting spot in recent weeks.

WHO MAY NEED TO RETURN TO MOLINEUX IN JANUARY?

Academy goalkeeper Joe O'Shaughnessy recently made the temporary switch to Bradford City, but the 19-year-old is yet to make a matchday squad for the League Two club.

Although midfielder Bruno Jordao has returned to Portugal to try to kick-start his career, he is yet to make an appearance for top-flight side Santa Clara.
