Australian full-back Israel Folau has said that he intends to emulate Jason Robinson by becoming the latest rugby league convert to star in a Lions Test series.
Folau, 24, was named in the Wallabies' 25-man squad for this summer's series, having played only 12 matches for New South Wales Waratahs since switching codes.
Englishman Robinson made a big impact for the Lions on their 2001 tour, despite being in the early stages of his career in union.
"I'm very confident in my own ability, but I'm not guaranteed to get a starting spot, so I'm just happy to be named in the 25-man squad," Folau told Sportal.com.
"I feel very honoured to be a part of it and it makes it more special with this series only coming around every 12 years."
He added on Fox Sports. "You've probably seen when Jason Robinson made the transition from league, he did a great job."
Robinson went on to enjoy a very successful career in union, the highlight of which was a World Cup win with England in 2003.
