Chris Robshaw feared for England future after losing captaincy

Chris Robshaw admits that he thought that he may never get the chance to play for England again following their failed World Cup campaign.

Chris Robshaw has admitted that he feared that he would never play for England again after he was stripped of the captaincy by new head coach Eddie Jones.

Dylan Hartley was handed the armband for the Six Nations, in which the Red Rose have won their first two games against Scotland and Italy.

Robshaw guided England to the World Cup under former head coach Stuart Lancaster, but the team failed to progress past the pool stage in their home tournament.

This weekend, England will welcome Ireland to Twickenham.

"Did I wonder if I'd get to play for England at Twickenham again? Yeah, of course," The Mirror quotes Robshaw as saying. "When things haven't gone well you always think, 'how are you going to rectify that'?

"That's just looking at it honestly - not knowing quite what to expect or what's going to happen. I'm hugely honoured to have that chance again."

England are currently at the top of the Six Nations table, level on points with France.
