Lewis Moody: 'Mike Brown a huge loss for England against Ireland'

Lewis Moody tells Sports Mole that England will sorely miss Mike Brown in their crucial Six Nations clash against Ireland in Dublin.

Lewis Moody has admitted that the injured Mike Brown will be a "huge loss" for England when they face Ireland in the Six Nations on Sunday.

The full-back has been ruled out of this weekend's crucial encounter in Dublin after failing to recover from concussion.

Alex Goode has been named as Brown's replacement in the starting XV, but Moody believes that Stuart Lancaster's side will badly miss the 29-year-old.

"It's a big disappointment for Stuart Lancaster," the World Cup winner told Sports Mole. "Mike's been one of our most consistent players over the past 18 months. Mike will be a huge loss because he brings a huge amount of commitment and attitude.

"Alex Goode's been playing well, but you wouldn't say he's the same calibre as Brown. But, then again, there's a lot of guys starting at the minute that you would argue aren't first choice."

England and Ireland are the only two sides who have won both of their opening two games of this year's Six Nations.
