Bruce Arians has said that recently-appointed New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles will do a "great job" with the AFC East side following his time as defensive coordinator at the Arizona Cardinals.
Bowles received the inaugural NFL Assistant Coach of the Year award at the NFL Honours ceremony earlier this weekend for his work with the NFC West side, while Arians was named Coach of the Year.
Arians told reporters: "I wouldn't be a head coach of the year if it wasn't for him and the job he did. I was so happy that we started that award and he got it for the first time and now he's going to do a great job for the Jets."
Bowles previously had a stint as secondary coach with the Jets in 2000.
