Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has questioned Marcus Rashford's team after the forward recently admitted that he could leave the club in the near future.
Rashford revealed in a recent interview with Henry Winter that he was "ready for a new challenge and the next steps" in his career, hinting that he is heading towards the exit door at Old Trafford.
The Man United academy product made the surprising remarks after being left out of Amorim's squad for the 2-1 win over Manchester City.
Rashford has since failed to make the matchday squad for Man United's last two games against Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth.
Amorim questions Rashford's team
Amorim has now questioned whether Rashford's representatives were behind the decision to conduct the bombshell interview.
"It is a hard situation," Amorim told Sky Sports. "I understand that these players have a lot of people around them, making choices that are not the first idea from the player.
"I am always here to help Marcus as another player. I have to do what I have to do. They chose to do the interview as it is not just Marcus. I understand that.
"As a coach, I just focus on performance and the way he trains. The rest, it is better for me and the club to deal with that when the time comes.
"At the moment I focus on improving Marcus. We need a talented guy like Marcus in this moment. I forget the interview now and see what I see on the pitch."
Does Rashford have a future at Man United?
According to the Daily Mail, Amorim is under no pressure from the club's hierarchy to bring Rashford back into the fold despite concerns that his recent omissions could negatively impact his transfer value.
The club's co-owners INEOS have no plans to interfere with Amorim's decision-making process, leaving the head coach with full autonomy to decide whether to pick Rashford,
Amorim has left the door open for Rashford to feature in the squad for the Boxing Day clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers, although there is a possibility that he may have already played his final game for the Red Devils.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a potential move for the Man United forward, while there is also believed to be interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Al-Ahli have emerged as one of the top contenders to secure Rashford's signature as they look to add him to a squad which contains Ivan Toney, Riyad Mahrez and Roberto Firmino. body check tags ::
