The Arizona Cardinals have cut Chris Rainey from their practice squad given his previous history with cases of domestic violence.
The move comes as the side placed Jonathan Dwyer on their non-football illness list after he was arrested on Wednesday for two separate alleged assaults, as the Cardinals look to set an example across the team.
Rainey only joined the side a few weeks ago, but Arizona have now decided to drop the player, the official NFL website reports.
Kerwynn Williams has since been called up to take Rainey's position on the practice field.
