Larry Fitzgerald is close to signing a new deal with the Arizona Cardinals, according to general manager Steve Keim.
The wide receiver will sign a two-year contract extension which will allow him to finish his career with the team, but Keim has also confirmed that Fitzgerald will take a pay cut.
He told reporters: "The two biggest pulls for us were pretty simple. Number one to compensate Larry for the type of player, the type of talent he is and the leader that he is. And then essentially clearing up enough salary cap space for us moving forward to be able to be aggressive and proactive when free agency starts."
NFL Media says that Fitzgerald was due £10.3m next season, but this new deal will see that figure drop to £7.1m.
The 31-year-old is the Cardinals' all-time leading receiver.
