The Atlanta Falcons have signed free agent offensive tackle Gabe Carimi on a one-year deal.
Carimi was available having been released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week following an unsuccessful one-year stint with the team in which he started just three games.
The 25-year-old was a first-round Draft pick for the Chicago Bears in 2011, but suffered from injuries and a loss of form at Soldier Field before being traded to the Buccaneers in exchange for a sixth-round pick.
The move will see Carimi team up with new Falcons offensive line coach Mike Tice once again after the duo worked together at the Bears.
Carimi will also be reunited with his former college teammates Nathan Tice, the son of Mike, and guard Peter Konz as he looks to rediscover the form that saw him win a host of accolades with the Wisconsin Badgers.
