Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter has talked up the qualities of rising running back Devonta Freeman, as the youngster prepares to make the starting team for his side's pre-season opener.
Freeman is expected to take the place of the injured Steven Jackson, but Koetter has admitted that the rookie is still adjusting to the demands of the NFL.
"Devonta is coming along fine," Koetter said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
"He runs hard, is eager, is willing, does not back down from anything. He can catch the ball, strong hands, fast. He's got all of the qualities.
"It's just he's a rookie in the NFL and he's going to go through some growing pains."
The new season gets underway on September 4.
