Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has revealed that he is greatly enjoying working with quarterback Matt Ryan.
Shanahan moved to the Falcons in the off-season from the Cleveland Browns, and he has admitted that he has been very impressed watching the skill set of the 30-year-old from a coaching perspective, which he feels will make life easier for him in the 2015 campaign.
"He has all those intangibles," Shanahan told ESPN. "He's a big guy who is tall in the pocket. The protection doesn't need to be great and he still makes the play. He can make any throw.
"What I've noticed best about Matt is how good he is with his eyes. He manipulates the defense every play.
"I think I call a play against a coverage that a guy shouldn't be open on, but he is open because Matt looks people off and helps get people open. It makes it a lot easier to call plays."
Ryan threw for 4,694 yards and 28 touchdowns to 14 interceptions in the 2014 season.
