Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has revealed that his side's starting running back will be decided by whoever is performing the better in the game.
Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce have struggled to run the ball this season, as the former averages just 2.5 yards a carry while the latter is fairing slightly better at 2.8.
Harbaugh told the club's official website: "Both of those guys are going to get a large number of carries, and I think whichever guy is playing better should get more carries as we go forward.
"Both of those guys have to play for us and play well. You can't have one back carrying the ball 35 times these days. We don't need to do that; we think we've got two very good backs."
The Ravens moved to 4-5 in their season with their overtime win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
