Baltimore Ravens full-back Vonta Leach has expressed his happiness at Gary Kubiak being named as the team's new offensive coordinator.
Kubiak was announced as part of the Ravens' staff on Monday, and Leach - who played under him at the Houston Texans for five years - is in full support of the appointment.
He told the team's official website: "I think it's the perfect fit and I think it's a home run. I'm happy that Coach Kubiak got another job and that it's with the Ravens.
"He's known around the league as one of the gurus when it comes to offense. He's a great guy, a players' coach, a family man. He lets guys be men out there, but he holds players accountable."
Leach's teammate Jacoby Jones also played for the Texans and it is understood that both players reached out to head coach John Harbaugh early on to recommend hiring their former coach, after he was dismissed back in December.
