The NFL has announced that running back Ray Rice has been suspended indefinitely from playing in the league.
The 27-year-old was released by the Baltimore Ravens after evidence emerged highlighting the violence of the attack on his wife earlier this year, which saw him arrested and handed an initial two-game ban by the league.
However, after reviewing the evidence provided by TMZ from the lift of the Atlantic City hotel, the NFL has decided to ban Rice indefinitely.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello wrote on Twitter: "Roger Goodell has announced that based on new video evidence that became available today he has indefinitely suspended Ray Rice."
Rice had been in the league since 2008 when he was selected in the second round of the Draft by the Ravens.
