Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has targeted an early return from injury as he is hopeful of making his comeback next week.
Cutler tore a groin muscle in his side's defeat to the Washington Redskins and was feared to be out for at least a month.
However, receiver Brandon Marshall revealed that he hoped to have his quaeterback back in a fortnight and the 30-year-old echoed his thoughts.
"Yeah, that's the goal," Cutler told ESPN. "Brandon is optimistic and so am I. We'll see how it goes.
"Each game is valuable, especially second half of the season. So the sooner I can get back, the better I'm going to feel helping these guys out."
The Bears are 4-3 in their season after week eight.
