Jay Cutler has missed a Chicago Bears practice in order to rest his injured ankle.
The quarterback has already been ruled out of the NFC North side's game against the Dallas Cowboys tomorrow, but was held out of yesterday's practice.
Head coach Mark Trestman told the Chicago Tribune: "I can say that he did very well this week in the first part of this getting-back-into-it type of thing, and he didn't have any residual effects [yesterday] morning.
"There was no soreness or anything like that. Which is good. And he worked pretty hard at it [in Friday's practice]. So we can be optimistic but we can't be definitive right now."
Cutler has missed three games since sustaining the high ankle sprain against the Detroit Lions last month.
