Chelsea defender Renato Veiga has reportedly attracted interest from Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart.
The 21-year-old is said to have gained plenty of admirers across Europe so far this season, with Juventus and Napoli also linked with the player.
Veiga made the switch from Swiss giants Basel to Stamford Bridge for £12m over the summer, looking to take the next step in his professional career.
The defender's minutes in the Premier League have been limited as he competes with a bloated squad in West London, starting just the one top-flight match.
Veiga has been a regular contributor in the Conference League, though, in which tournament favourites Chelsea comfortably finished top of the 36-team League Phase rankings.
Chelsea youngster Veiga to move in January?
According to The Mirror, a new horse has entered the race for the services of Chelsea and Portugal star Veiga during the current transfer window.
The report claims that Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart are massive admirers of the 21-year-old, who has turned out for his country in the Nations League earlier this season.
It is understood that any move away from Stamford Bridge for Veiga would only be a temporary agreement until the conclusion of the 2024-25 term.
Chelsea are still supposedly confident that the defender has the potential to develop into a first-team regular in West London over the coming years.
It is believed that Enzo Maresca's men are reluctant to offload Veiga this month, especially considering his importance to Chelsea's cup teams.
What is best for Veiga?
Limited to just 177 minutes of Premier League football this season, it is understandable if Veiga is tempted by a loan move to Italy or Germany before the February 3 deadline.
That being said, Chelsea's 2024-25 campaign offers the youngster with a unique opportunity as the club continue to fight on three fronts.
There are still plenty of minutes on the cards for Veiga in the Conference League, with Maresca's side expected to reach the latter stages at a canter. body check tags ::
