The Chicago Bears have released long-time center Roberto Garza and have signed Will Montgomery to a one-year contract.
Garza spent 10 seasons of his 14-year pro career with the Bears, but with his production slipping he will now look for a new team ahead of the new campaign.
Meanwhile, Montgomery played for Bears coach John Fox and offensive co-ordinator Adam Gase last season with the Denver Broncos.
The 32-year-old is entering his 11th season in the NFL, and will be able to fit into an offensive system that he is already familiar with.
The swap at center is another move from Fox in a bid to mould his new team after joining them at the end of last season.
