The Chicago Bears have signed veteran safety Antrel Rolle after he agreed to a three-year contract with the organisation on Wednesday.
After spending five years with the New York Giants, Rolle joins Chicago and will expect to replace Chris Conte who will reportedly sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 32-year-old has missed just one game in the last nine years, with Giants coach Tom Coughlin describing him as one of the best team leaders he has ever coached.
The arrival of the three-time Pro Bowl selection will be a boost for defensive co-ordinator Vic Fangio, as the Bears continue to make moves in free agency.
Fangio and new coach John Fox have made strengthening their back-end coverage a priority since arriving at the franchise at the end of last season.
