Rob Chudzinski has said that Brandon Weeden needs to reduce the number of mistakes that he makes.
The quarterback was sacked twice and threw two interceptions during the Cleveland Browns' 31-17 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
The team's head coach told the Browns' website: "He was trying to get rid of the ball as best he could, and at that position, guys make mistakes. They're going to throw interceptions and things like that. It's a matter of being smart with the football, and we have to take care of the football.
"It really just boils down to those critical decisions and the mistakes that he made [on Sunday]. I know he wants them back and would like to have them back, but there were also mistakes from other guys too.
"At times, we made some mental mistakes, whether it was in the run game with protections or running routes. The quarterback is the guy that everybody sees, and that's part of the job, but we all have to get better and play more consistently overall."
The Browns play the Green Bay Packers this weekend.
